Review #1105; Rum #431
J Gow is a Scotland distillery that is located on Lamb Holm. The rum is distilled from imported molasses, fermented for 5-14 days and distilled two times. This particular bottling was aged for 5 years in an ex bere whisky/OWC oak cask before being bottled at cask strength with no additives.

This is a fine rum. The fruits are pretty nice and the dash of pepper adds a little something to it. I feel as though the cask does the heavy lifting here but I am alright with that as it is an enjoyable flavor profile. The only downfall for me here really is that the flavors are a bit limited and the mouthfeel comes across a touch on the thin side despite the proof.
