Review #1197; Rum #511
Here we have a bottling that came by way of dependent bottler Habitaiton Velier working with that new distillery on Grenada, Renegade. Here, Habitation has bottled a blend of rums distilled from fresh press cane juice that aged for 3 years on Grenada in a combination of ex-French oak and new virgin American cask casks. It was then bottled at cask strength with no additives.

I had enjoyed a few of the unaged Renegade offerings, but overall I felt they were not as good as their price as they competed with rums like Rivers and were not as good as more budgetary offerings like Pere Labat 59. But here, I have to admit I can see the vision being developed. This is a masterful blending of young aged cane juice rums. The flavors pop and aren’t drowned out by the oak but work in conjunction, while still retaining its bright and vibrant flavors like it had no age on it. A very impressive rum all around.
