Arran 6yr 2012 Royal Mile Whisky Exclusive

Review #1113; Scotch #214

I had this blind then was revealed the bottling, so keep that in mind reading my notes.

This 6 year old Arran was a blend of 3 vatted sherry hogshead that held peated Arran spirit for 6 years before being bottled at cask strength with no color added or chill filtration.

A great beating of sherry and peat. Loads of fruits, candied bacon, and orange peel with spices make this a real standout for me. It doesn’t rise as high as other malts I’ve had but it is quite good.

Guess: Edradour, Sherry Aged, Ex-Oloroso, 11-14 years, 57-59%

A bit off on my guess, but I haven’t exactly been reviewing much malts as of late. But, I have always enjoyed Arran and this one was no slouch either.
