Review #13; Bourbon #9: Weller Special Reserve

Background: This Wheated Bourbon comes to us from Buffalo Trace. This non age state bourbon is near the bottom of the rung when it comes to Buffalo Trace wheated bourbons, so let us see how it is.

ABV: 45%

Nose: Strong Ethanol, sharp, a hint of sweetness but no much under the harsh nose.

Palate: Thin and watery. Young. Very little flavor in the mouth. Maybe a hint of vanilla but not much there.

Finish. No finish, alcohol burn.

Conclusion: This is not good. Hype/Co-worker recommendation and just wanting to have a bottle so I picked this up at MSRP, and it just isn’t worth it. Harsh, no flavor, and young I won’t be coming back to this bottle and will mix it and give it to friends. I’m not finishing what I poured out, that is how little I like this.
