Review #9; Bourbon #6: OKI SiB Winking Lizard Select

Description: This is a single barrel of MGP bourbon bottled by OKI. Proof and age unknown to me as I did not ask when I ordered this.

Nose: Caramel and spice, cinnamon and black pepper with some vanilla sweetness.

Palate: Medium with a good mouth feel. Warm but not hot for proof. The sweetness is up front with the caramel and cinnamon moving towards a spicier oak, changing as it moves to the back of the throat.

Finish: Long and dry that leaves oak leather and black pepper on the palate. Not complex and not hot.

Conclusion: This was an easy to drink, simple bourbon that didn’t wow you or surprise you. Being MGP and a bar pick it was decent. The only negative might be that it is simple.
