Review #1528; Rum #827
Here we have a single cask from Alambique Serrano as part of the yearly special releases they do, Vid Nativa. This rum was distilled from fresh pressed cane juice. It then fermented in pine tanks with wild yeast and was then distilled on the Krassel still. It was put into a Mexican Rum cask for 28 months and was finished for 9 months in a jackfruit cask. It was then bottled at cask strength with no water, sugar, or coloring added.

This is quite the good rum from Alambique. It’s very heavy on the baking spices with a touch of fruit to round it all out. The sandalwood backbone here is a bit heavy for me and for my tastes it’s a bit down compared to other bottlings I have had. But its still a quality rum.
