Salon du Rum Hampden 28 Year 1993

Review #1474; Rum #773

This rum was bottled by independent bottler Salon du Rum. This rum was distilled from molasses after a long fermentation time with wild yeast before being distilled on a copper pot still at the Hampden Estate distillery in Jamaica. It was then shipped to Europe where it aged for 28 years before being bottled at cask strength with no additives. This is the C<>H marque which comes in at 1300-1400 gr/hLAA.

Overall an excellent bottle of Hampden rum. These well aged 90s distilled Hampden’s tend to be quite vibrant and expressive. Bold pungent tropical fruits, spices, a bit of soy sauce and savoryness thrown into the mix as well.
