Review #1398; Rum #697
So, the hosts over at The Rumcast decided that they would go on a little journey to select a couple of casks of rum. https://www.rumcast.com/rumcast-reserve-journey-1The whole journey is recounted in that link but through it all they ended up picking this cask of rum from the Main Rum warehouse in Liverpool.
This is a bottle of rum from Diamond Distillery located in Guyana. This rum was distilled from molasses on the Versailles wooden pot still. It then aged in a heavy char ex-rum cask at The Main Rum Company’s Liverpool warehouse for 9 years and 11 months before being bottled at cask strength.

This is a very good rum. It’s not quite up there with other VSG I’ve had as it lacks a chunk of the depth of flavor compared, but as a historical mark and one that is seemingly going away its good to have.
