Review #1386; Rum #689
This is a rum from New Orleans, Louisana based distillery Roulaison (I’ll link my visit to their distillery below). This rum was distilled from molasses on alembic style stills and put into ex-bourbon casks for 5 years before being bottled as a bottled in bond product, which is a legal qualification that means the liquid must be distilled in one season by one distiller at one distillery, kept at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at 50% abv.

This is quite a great bottling of rum. The base distillate works well with the ageing and its quite fruity with a bit of cough syrup and barrel influence to tie it all together. The fruit notes are really nice and the spices come out to sing. Overall, quite impressive from Roulaison.
