Doctor Bird Pineapple Rum
Review #1362; Rum #665
This is a bottle of aged rum from Two James distillery. Here they took Jamaican rum they sourced from the Worthy Park distillery, macerated it with grilled pineapple, and bottled at a high proof with no artificial flavors, colorings, extracts, or added sugar.
Distillery: Worthy Park
Bottler: Two James
Region: Jamaica
Still: Pot
ABV: 57%
Nose: Vanilla, Over-Ripe bananas, pineapple bark, clove, black pepper
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, vanilla, over-ripe banana, clove, pineapple bark, cinnamon

Rating: 5/10
I think this is fine. It has a nice pineapple flavor to it that doesn’t lean into being overly sweet because pineapple, but more like a well restrained profile that works well with the underlying over-ripe fruits of the worthy park rum. Some nice spices come into play as well to make this quite good. I don’t reach for this too often, but I like to spice up a drink with it sometimes or it’s just fun to have around. The heat gets a bit uneven on the back end which brings it down just a hair for me.
