Hampden Estate Maverick

Review #1335; Rum #640

This sample was provided to me by a producer, distributor, or some other industry source free-of-charge. No compensation, outside of the sample, was received and there were no strings attached.

This is a special release from Hampden Estate released in honor of Maverick Hann, the son of Christelle & Mathew who was born May 14th, 2024. This rum was distilled from molasses using Cane Vinegar, Dunder, Muck, and Spring water.  Maverick is a blend of marques:

50% HGML 2018

40% LFCH 2020

10% C<>H 2021

It was then bottled at cask strength with no additives.

Another excellent release from Hampden Estate for me, these blends ala Great House, Maverick, or the PM x Spirits blend all bring incredible flavor. This one leans a little more on the funkier side for me, you can really tell that C<>H is in there with a big bold buttered popcorn note. The fruits and spices work well with it as well. I believe this is coming to the states, presumably in the various major markets but I have no clue on price or availability.
