Review #1296; Rum #601
Here we have rum bottled by La Maison Du Whisky. This rum was distilled from fresh pressed cane juice on a copper column still in Vietnam, it aged for 6 years in an ex-cognac cask before being bottled at cask strength with no additives.
Distillery: Sampan

Region: Vietnam
Still: Column

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Raspberry, Dark Chocolate, Umami, Brine, Ginger
Finish: Medium mouthfeel, Raspberry, Dark Chocolate, Ginger, Brine, Umami
Rating: 6/10
This is a very good rum. The dark chocolate flavor really pops out, as does the ginger and brine. The Raspberry is prominent as well. This is good, but the cask dominates the base distillate a little too much for me.
