Rolling Fork Barbados 9 Year

Review #1282; Rum #587

Here we have another bottle of rum from the folks at Rolling Fork, an American independent rum bottler based out of Starlight Indiana. This rum was distilled from molasses at Foursquare on a pot and column still. It then aged in a mix of continental and tropical ageing before being bottled at cask strength, likely with a bourbon barrel finish.

Distillery: Foursquare

Bottler: Rolling Fork

Region: Barbados

Still: Pot & Column

ABV: 59.12%

Nose: Vanilla, Apple, toasted brown sugar, cinnamon

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Vanilla, Toasted Brown Sugar, touch of dark chocolate, peppery

Finish:  Medium length finish, Toasted Brown Sugar, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Dark Chocolate

Rating: 6/10

Overall, a very good bottling of Foursquare rum. This one is a crowd pleaser for sure. It hits those classic notes you want from foursquare while bringing a bit more vanilla that I would expect. While when it comes to Foursquare, the ECS 12 year vintages tend to be something I like to have around, those have gotten harder and harder to obtain over the years easily. Plus with the increased prices, these Rolling Fork releases can be a good grab if you want that well aged Barbados rum profile in your life.
