Foursquare Magisterium 16 Year

Review #1276; Rum #581

This release from the Foursquare distillery in Barbados is a blend of three 16 year old blended rums. These rums were distilled in the copper Double-Retort Pot Still and a Continuous Twin Column Coffey Still. Two of the rums were double maturations. One aged for 3 years in ex-bourbon, then an additional 13 years in Ex-Oloroso Sherry Barrels. The other aged for 9 years in ex-bourbon and then another 7 in Ex-Oloroso sherry. The final set of rum was aged all 16 years in ex-bourbon casks. These rums were all distilled, blended, aged, and bottled at the Foursquare Distillery in Barbados by Richard Seale and his team.

This is a great rum, it falls in that vein of Raspberry menthol cough syrup, but not as intense as others in that flavor vein that Ive had. Nevertheless, this is a great and tasty rum.
