Review #1270; Rum #575
This is a bottling of rum from the Savanna distillery located on Reunion Island. This rum was distilled on a column still and aged for between 10-15 years in ex-cognac and ex-port casks. All the ageing took place at Savanna in tropical conditions. The base rum was their Grand Arome mark and it was bottled at high proof with no additives.

I love aged Grand Arome from Savanna and this bottling is of no exception. Fruits, menthol, and that weird flavor I can only describe as a kind of sweaty funk that forms the backbone. A touch of that industrial metallic tinge pops in as well and the finish lasts forever. An expensive bottle, but a great one.
