Here we have another limited release from Saint James.  This fresh pressed cane juice rhum was distilled on a creole column still and tropically aged in ex-bourbon casks before being bottled at cask strength with no additives.

Nose: Apple, Raisin, touch of leather, wood varnish, Vanilla

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Apple, Raisin, Touch of leather, wood varnish, vanilla, star anise

Finish:  Medium length finish, Apple, Raisin, Touch of leather, star anise, raspberry

Rating: 7/10

This is a great rum, but a few steps below release number 1. A ton of fruits here, some nice oak structure, and a bit of those savory flavors. If you prefer your old agricole not so beaten by oak this should be the pick for you. But Saint James shows they can put out some pretty incredible rums.
