Review #1136; Rum #455
This is a single cask of rum from Demerara Distillers Limited in Guyana, but bottled by L’Esprit, an independent bottler from Europe. This rum was distilled from molasses on the Double Wooden Port Mourant Pot still in 2005, then aged in Europe for 12 years before being bottled at cask strength with no additives in 2017.

This is a standout Port Mourant from L’Esprit. The abundance of fruits on this is quite surprising and unique for the Port Mourant’s I have tried. The spices are nice and the fruits go well with them. The short finish is what brings this down a bit compared to other PM’s I have had, but overall it is still a great rum and a great example of an off profile bottling from DDL.
