Giboin Millesime 2001 CS

This is a cask strength Cognac from the Giboin producer. Distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes in 2001 it was aged in a humid cellar until it was bottled at cask strength with no additives.

ABV: 53.6%

Nose: Earthy, Dark Chocolate, Orange Peel, slight vanilla, slight nuttiness

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Orange Peel, Dark Chocolate, Vanilla, slight nuttiness, figs

Finish: Medium length finish, balsa wood, orange peel, dark chocolate, vanilla, nuttiness, figs, cinnamon

Rating: 7/10

A great Cognac. A good mix of fruity and savory notes, on the younger side of ones I’ve had but this really pops with flavor for me.

1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite
