This is a single cask bottling from the independent bottler CDI. This rum was distilled at the New Yarmouth distillery located in Jamaica from molasses (likely from a pot still). This rum was aged for 12 years before being bottled at cask strength with no additives.
ABV: 59.5%
Nose: Over-ripe fruits, Banana, Pineapple, Cement Glue, faint meats, allspice, green apple, Apple Cider Vinegar
Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Over-Ripe banana, Pineapple, Cement Glue, Meaty, Allspice, Apple Cider Vinegar, olive oil
Finish: Medium length finish, Over-ripe banana, Pineapple, Cement Glue, Allspice, Apple-Cider Vinegar, Minerality, olive oil
Rating: 8/10
This is excellent. A shining example of a higher ester (no clue on if it is but it tastes like it to me) aged Jamaican rum. Funky fruits, weird glue, spices, minerality all the fun notes come out to play. Its well balanced, nice to drink, and just punches you in the mouth with flavor.
