Review #922; Brandy #45: Chateau de Leberon 1994 27yr

Chateau de Leberon 1994 27yr

This single cask of Armagnac comes to us from Leberon a fourth generation distillery. This Armagnac was made from 65% Ugni Blanc grapes and 35% Colombard. It was then distilled on a continuous Armagnac still and aged for 27 years in a 1300 liter Gascon Oak cask before being bottled with no sugar, water, or coloring by PM Spirits.

ABV: 46%

Nose: Rich, Waffle Cone, Nuttiness, Slight Leather, grilled fig, nutmeg

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Nuttiness, Raspberry Jam, leather, grilled fig, nutmeg, Tart blueberry

Finish: Medium length finish, Nuttiness, Raspberry Jam, Tart blueberry, Grilled Fig, Nutmeg, Orange Peel, Black tea.

Rating: 7/10

Bold, fruity, and rich this is one tasty Armagnac. Heavy on the darker fruits, a bit of savory spices and oak to round it all out make for a very tasty and crushable pour.
