Review #892; Bourbon #174: Buffalo Trace SiB OHLQ #134 (Blind)

Buffalo Trace Single Barrel (OHLQ Select #134)

This bottling is a single barrel of Buffalo Trace bourbon from the distillery that shares the same name. This was selected by the state of Ohio and sold through the states Liquor system. I had this blind so keep that in mind.

ABV: 45%

Nose: Butterscotch, Vanilla, Faint Minerality, Banana

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Butterscotch, Faint Minerality, Banana

Finish: Medium length finish, slight metallic tinge, Minerality, Banana

Rating: 5/10

Just fine, the flavors are simple but good, that banana comes in for me and this minerality thing it has going on is pretty fun. Pleasant to drink

Guess: 6-8yr, Old Forester Store Pick (100 Proof)

Reveal: Buffalo Trace Single Barrel OHLQ Selection

Weird and off profile compared to the other ones of these I had. Not exciting but nice to drink, tracks with other Buffalo Trace SiB’s I have had.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite

10 | Perfect | Perfect
