George Dickel Rye Whiskey x Leopold Bros – Collaboration Blend Rye Whiskey (Penelope Glass)
This collaboration is a blend of straight ryes from Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. and Leopold Bros. Coming out in 2021, this no age statement rye is a blend of ryes from George Dickel (no mashbill given) and Leopold Bros (80% Abruzzi Rye , 20% Leopold Floor Malt). The reason for Dickels inclusion in this project was Leopold wanted a column-distilled rye for their project.

A unique rye, the floral notes there are awesome as are the heavy malt notes I get all over from the breadiness. This is a standout release and is very good, though the price tag for a full bottle would be a bit hard to stomach.
Bone Snapper Rye r/bourbon select 7.5 year Dickel Rye (Central Ohio Bourbon Glass)
This cool and unique bottling comes to us from the r/bourbon selection team. This is a single barrel bottling of Dickel rye, not MGP sourced rye, Dickel’s own rye distillate straight from Cascade Hollow. Aged for 7.5 years, bottled at cask strength with no additives. The wildest story (as relayed to us by t8ke) is that another group has picked this, then rejected it once they found out it was Dickel. Let’s see how it turned out.

Wow, this is the most unique bottle of rye (non-finished) I have had up to this point. Earthy, Lemony, Minty, and some vanilla and fruits that help to balance it all out. This is a real winner chosen by t8ke and one of my favorite ryes I have had.
Overall, there were two really unique ryes to try back to back and I felt that they were fair to compare given how little Dickel Rye is out on the market. The Leopold collab is really cool and tasty and I look forward to more from them, but I want more of this Dickel Rye on the market and in my bar as its so damn good.
