This rum comes to us from the island of Marie-Galante, a part of Guadeloupe. This distillery has been producing rum since the early 1900’s and uses locally grown sugarcane varietals which is crushed fresh to provide the sugarcane juice to make this Rhum Agricole. This rhum is distilled at a 3 day fermentation before resting in open top foudres for up to 2 weeks before being bottled at 59%.

This is a great and unique release. The minerality is heavy and forward which makes this refreshing. Citrus and spices come into play to add a nice layer of complexity, with the faint hints of vanilla and some sweetness with the vegetal cucumber and grass rounding it out. This is very unique to a good amount of Rhum Agricole I have had and I look forward to acquiring a bottle for summer neat drinking and delicious Ti Punches.
