This rum comes to us from American Independent bottler Holmes Cay. Mhoba is a South African field to glass distillery. The rum is made from fresh pressed sugar cane juice then aged for 4 years in ex-African whiskey casks before being bottled with no additives. This is the first Mhoba available in the U.S. so let us dive in.

This is just an incredible rum. It hits some great refreshing notes, vegetalness, minerality, and some faint fruits and spices. I was worried by the young age for a Sugarcane juice rum but this blew me away with its great flavor, mouthfeel, and balance. One of the best rums available in the U.S. right now and another great winner from Mhoba.
