Review #735; Rum #177: Black Pearl Rum

This rum comes to us from Seven Three distilling co located in New Orleans, Louisana. This is a rum made from Louisiana molasses, distilled on a hybrid pot/column still, unaged and bottled with no additives.

ABV: 42.5%

Nose: Faint Vanilla, light lemon.

Palate: Thinn Mouthfeel, Lemon tart, vanilla, Peppery

Finish: Short finish, Lemon Zest, Vanilla, peppery

Rating: 4/10

Overall just very boring. Thin on mouthfeel, short on flavor, and just very mild all around. It’s a rum that just sort of exists. I guess it could be used as a filler for a cocktail that dominated by the juice. Not a bad rum by any means, but it doesn’t rise to good for me.
