Review #726; Rum #171: Roulasion Rum Overproof

This rum comes to us from Roulasion distillery located in Louisiana. This rum is produced using Louisiana molasses that is then fermented for 2-3 weeks, distilled on a pot still, and bottled un-filtered with no additives.

ABV: 57.5%

Nose: Toasted Coconut, Vanilla bean, Brine, Blackberry, lime juice

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Lime Zest, Toasted Coconut, Brine, Blackberry

Finish: Medium length finish, Lime zest, toasted coconut, brine, vanilla bean, blackberry

Rating: 6/10

Once again this is a really impressive rum being made down in Louisiana. Juicy tart fruits, citrus, and spices make for a very nice sipping experience. I bet this would really shine in some cocktails as well with the added proof brining that flavor punch.
