Review #721; Bourbon #161: Starlight 4yr Oloroso finish “Cork n Bottle select”

This is a store select from Cork and Bottle. This bottling comes to us from the Starlight distillery, clocks in at 4 years and 6 months old, and was finished in an Oloroso sherry barrel.

ABV: 52.1%

Nose: Orange Peel, Vanilla cream, Raisins, Figs, twing of baking spices, cinnamon, Nutmeg, Clove

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Orange Peel, Figs, Nutmeg, Black Pepper, Vanilla Cream, light cinnamon

Finish: Medium length finish, Orange Peel, Raspberry, Vanilla Cream, Black Pepper, Nutmeg, Cinnamon

Rating: 7/10

This is a great bottling. The oloroso finish, even if dominating a bit, is a wonderful addition to the base bourbon flavor here. Strong fruits, baking spices, and classic bourbon notes all join together incredibly well. A great bottling from Starlight and I am excited to try more of their wild finished.
