This unaged rum was bottled by dependent bottler Habitation Velier and distilled at Long Pond Distillery in Jamaica. Clocking in at 674 gr/hlpa ester count with no additives, let us see how it stands up against other unaged funky Jamaican rums.

Nose: Lemon Zest, over ripe banana, mango, grilled pineapple bark, slight olive oil, rubber cement.

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel. Lemon zest, over-ripe fruits, banana, mango, grilled pineapple bark, rubber cement, slight olive oil.

Finish: Long finish. Burst of black pepper, lemon zest, grilled pineapple bark, rubber cement, olive oil, passionfruit, cumin.

Rating: 8/10

As is generally the case for me, I find this to be an outstanding unaged Jamaican rum. Intense ripe fruit flavors, spices, a tinge of heat, and some funky cement and glue bring it all together for an intense flavor experience that is well balanced between sweet and savory. Excellent neat, and I suspect fabulous in a cocktail I wish I had a few bottles of this to play around with.
