Review #660; Rum #136: Urupan Charanda Blanco

This is a sugarcane distillate that can only be made in 16 municipalities in Michoacán. This is a blend of 50% column-distilled molasses and 50% long fermented pot-distilled cane juice and piloncillo. This rum is bottled with no additives.

ABV: 46%

Nose: Briney, Lemon Zest, Paint Glue, Mango, Minerality, faint green vegetalness,

Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Briney, Lemon Zest, pop of mango, minerality, raw sugar cane,

Finish: Short finish. Briney, pop of lemon, mango, minerality, slight vegetalness, earthiness.

Rating: 6/10

Overall a very good rum. Great clean flavor spices, a bit of funky fruits with vegetalness and brine coming in. Taking into the account the price this is some awesome stuff and something I want to keep on my shelf to have around.
