Review #657: Rum #137: Rhum Rhum PMG

This rum comes to us from the Bielle distillery on Guadeloupe. Using a Mueller still to distill fresh cange juice, this is rested for a year in stainless steel tanks before bottling. This is a collaboration between Luca Gargano and Italian Eau de Vie producer Gianni Vittorio Capovilla.

ABV: 56%

Nose: Red Berries, Clay, Salt, Lemon Zest, Mango, grassy.

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, Raspberry, Tart Blueberry, Lemon Zest, Clay, Salt, Mango, grassy.

Finish: Medium length finish. Lemon zest, clay, grassy, mango, raspberry, salt.

Rating: 8/10

Yeah this is an excellent agricole. Big flavors, thick mouthfeel, complex and well balanced this is just a great rum. Nice to sip and I’m sure performs well in a cocktail, the amount of flavor and complexity they managed to pack into this rum is quite exceptional. I want a few bottles of it now.
