Review #636; Gin #15: Oakland Spirits Co. Uptown Dry

This is another gin from Oakland spirits Co. A grape base distillate, I was unable to find a ton on what all went into this gin. So with that being said lets try it out.

ABV: 47%

Nose: Black Pepper, Lemon Zest, Pine Sap, Brine, Cinnamon

Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Slight ethanol, black pepper, lemon zest, pine, nutmeg.

Finish: Short finish. A bit more ethanol here, black pepper, nutmeg, minerality.

Rating: 5/10

Overall, a just fine gin. If you like the classic gin profile, this will nail that for you. This would work well in your standard gin cocktails and is affordable enough to function as a house gin. However, it is not very exciting or complex. The ethanol is a hair harsh on the finish, but I am sure, it does its job well in a cocktail.
