This is a blend from Bardstown Bourbon company. The breakdown of this blend is 55% 13 year old 74 Corn/18 Rye /8 Malted Barley Mashbill (Barton), 37% 15 Year 78.5/13/8.5 (Beam?) and 8% 10 Year 75/13/12 (Beam?) that has been blended together. Let’s see how it is.
ABV: 57.5%
Nose: Fruity, orange peel, caramel, Cherry, black pepper, faint green apple
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Warm. Orange Peel, vanilla bean, black pepper, slight cherry, Oak spice.
Finish: Medium length finish. Dry. Black pepper, Vanilla, slight orange peel, heavy oak spice, lingering cherry.
Rating: 7/10
This is tasty. It brings a nice complexity with several components that stand on their own but blended create great compliments to each other flavorwise. You have to enjoy a nice oaky drink though as the ages on this blend seems to bring the oak spice and black pepper pretty heavily to this party. It doesn’t rise to being an over the top favorite but it is a great bottle of blended bourbon.
