This rum comes to us from Hampden rum distillery located in Trelawny Jamaica. This rum was distilled, bottled, and aged entirely within Jamaica. It is a blend of 80% 7 year old OWH and 20% 3 Year Old <>H. Distilled with molasses on a pot still, fermented with wild yeast, let’s see how it stands up to close examination.

This is an exceptional bottle. In terms of the Hampden experience, this ranks lowerish on the funk level than some outstanding single casks of higher marks out there and unaged marks. However, the depth of flavor, complexity, and balance is off the charts. Full of fruits, a nice level of funk, spices, oak structure, and well behaved meat make for an exceptional product. This is a bottling that I think rum fans will love and can be that dirty A word “accessible” for people who have not had introductions to Jamaican rum but enjoy higher proof spirits. This slots in nicely above the Hampden Overproof, and is a benchmark for Hampden going forward in my opinion.
