Review #540; Brandy #19: Rhine Hall Mango Brandy

This weird offering comes to us from Rhine Hall. Using mangoes from Mexico, they distill with no additives. Each bottle contains about 25lbs of fruit. Let’s see how it holds up.

ABV: 40%

Nose: Heavy mango (kind of duh), pear skin, slight apple, lemon zest, faint passion fruit.

Palate: Light, thin mouthfeel. Mango skin, lemon zest, pear.

Finish: Short. Mango, lemon zest, faint passion fruit.

Rating: 4/10

This is perfectly acceptable. If you like mangoes then you will like this brandy. It is a simple and straightforward mango brandy. Lots of mango, hints of other fruits, and slight spice. Its pretty flavorful for 40% abv, though I do wish the mouthfeel with thicker and the finish longer, and for a neat spirit it runs just a hair too sweet for me which brings it down to sub-par.
