This rum comes to us by way of Hampden distillery (secret) and is their C<>H mark (1300-1400 ester count) selected by K&L wines in California. Let’s see how it turned out.
ABV: 64.1%
Nose: Heavy Funk, over-ripe fruits. Heavy banana, mango, guava, nutmeg, lime zest, slight vanilla.
Palate: Thick mouthfeel. Heavy over ripe / rotting tropical fruits. Heavy Banana, mango, vanilla, pineapple, lime zest, vanilla, passionfruit.
Finish: Medium length. Heavy funk over ripe fruits, banana, mango, guava, lime zest, black pepper, slight nutmeg, passionfruit.
Rating: 9/10
This thing is a delicious, aged, all out assault on your senses. Heavy rotting and over ripe fruits attack your senses, spices come in to attempt to balance them out but the medley of fruit salad that has sat out for too long dominates it all in a spectacular way.
