This almost 100 year old Cognac comes to us from a widow (almost 100 herself) who died several years ago. This was distilled before the great depression hit, and bottled in 2015.
ABV: 53.8%
Nose: Raisins, black pepper, nutmeg, orange peel, floralness.
Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel. Big burst of raisins, black pepper, heavy oak spice, orange peel, touch of grass.
Finish: Long rich finish. Warm. Tons of Raisins, Orange Peel, Black Pepper, oak spice
Rating: 9/10
This stuff rocks. If you don’t like oak this might not be for you but the oak is heavy but well integrated. Orange peel, raisin, black pepper, and some faint floralness round out the experience. The finish on this is the longest of any spirit I have had just tons of black pepper, oak, and a nice orange peel fruitiness. The finish goes on for actual minutes. What an incredible expression of Cognac.
