Review #490; Scotch #166: Glenallachie 11yr (2007) The Whisky Barrel Selection First Fill Sherry

This is a bottling from IB Signatory Vintage. This comes from Glenallachie distiller, was aged for 11 years in a first fill sherry hogshead, then bottled at cask strength with no color added, and was non-chill filtered.

ABV: 61.3%

Nose: Heavy baking spices, nutmeg, allspice, black pepper, oak spice, raisin, toasted brown sugar,

Palate: Medium length mouthfeel, honey, figs, allspice, black pepper, orange peel, oak spice, slight maltiness.

Finish: Medium length finish, dry, orange peel, raisin, honey, black pepper, heavy allspice,

Rating: 7/10

Lots of fruit and spices, this one is a boatload of flavor and one I wish I had a full bottle of on hand. Perfect for a crisp fall evening.
