Review #459; Japanese Whisky #1: Hbiki Haromny Master’s Select

This is a duty free release of Hbiki Harmony. It was a blend of 10 Japense malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita, aged in 5 different casks, American White Oak, sherry, Mizunara oak, Yamaziki sherry are the ones we know. I had this blind so keep that in mind while reading these notes.

ABV: 43%

Nose: Honey, Orange Peel, Malty, light must, vanilla frosting,

Palate: Light mouthfeel, honey, malts, cereals, oak spice, apple.

Finish: medium length, orange peel, vanilla frosting, slight apple

Rating: 5/10

Guess: This is a single malt, a blend with NAS, but feels like a mix of young and old whisky. Bottled at 43-46% abv.

Reveal: Hibiki Harmony, Masters Select

Huh, this is an interesting blend of whiskies I can see its appeal, I just wish it had a bit more flavor and depth of flavor, but it is a well-made whisky.
