This bottling comes to us by way of American Independent bottler Single Cask Nation. They bottled a 2-year-old whisky aged in a First-Fill Jamaican rum barrel from producer Milk and Honey based out of Israel. This was bottled at cask strength with no color added and was non-chill filtered.
ABV: 61.3%
Nose: Honey, fresh baked bread, light brine, peppery, light melon, lemon zest.
Palate: Medium buttery mouthfeel, A bit of heat but not overbearing , honey, bready, black peppercorns, light allspice, mango.
Finish: Long, a bit of must, honey, bread, oak spice, black peppercorns, a bit of heat.
Rating: 6/10
This is an impressive showing from milk and honey. It packs a punch in the heat department, but the flavors are bold and impressive. Lots of honey, bread, and savory spices mixed in with some light fruits. For 2 years old, this is an impressive showing and a distillery I am keen to taste some of their other expressions.
