This is a bottling from Banhez. This was made from 100% Tepeztate which can take up to 25 years to mature. This was produced by Apolonio Patricio Lopez in San Agustín Amatengo, Ejutla, Oaxaca. It takes 5-6 days to naturally ferment before being distilled in copper pots.

ABV: 47%

Nose: Heavy Vegetal, Green Bell Peppers, Steamed Lettuce, Minerality,

Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Warm, Green Bell Peppers, Veggie Forward, Minerals, Earthy, Peppery, industrial smoke, brine

Finish: Medium Length, dry, dirty minerality, Green Bell Peppers, Spicy, Slight Mango, Earthy, brine

Rating: 7/10

This is a vegetal, somewhat “gritty” smoke forward offering and it is good because of that. Compared to some other offerings I have had it feels very “unrefined” in a way. This comes at you with big bold good flavors.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite

10 | Perfect | Perfect
