Review #387; Rum #33: Rhum Barbancourt 3 Star

I had this blind and then was revealed the bottle so keep that in mind while reading these notes This is a sugar cane spirit from Haiti. It was made from fresh sugarcane then aged for 4 years in French Oak.

ABV: 43%

Nose: Burnt brown sugar, Black Pepper, Oak Spice,

Palate: . Light mouthfeel, oak spice, light vanilla, brown sugar, Butter Scotch

Finish: Short length, brown sugar, light funk, light vanilla, strong oak spice, slight dark chocolate, tannins.

Rating: 3/10

Guess: This is a well aged, high proof light whiskey. FROM MGP and aged in ex-bourbon barrels. It’s not bad, but its not the best. This is very light on flavors.

Reveal: This was revealed to be the above and boy was I way off on what I thought it was. This is not something I could see myself seeking out.
