Review #378; Scotch #144: Glenturrt 29yr 1989 Signatory Vintage

This is a bottling from IB Signatory Vintage. This Glenturret was barreled on 4/21/1989 and bottled on 3/14/2019. It was aged in a bourbons hogshead. It was bottled at cask strength, with no color added and was non-chill filtered. This offering was bottled for the Whisky Club Luxembourg and Whiskyexclusive, lets see how well they picked.

ABV: 44.9%

Nose: Honey, Floral, Cereals, Vanilla Bean, Black Tea, Orange Citrus

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel. Chocolate, Honey, Floral, Vanilla, well integrated oak spice, black pepper, malty, citrus, bready.

Finish: Medium length, warm, moist. Honey, Dark Chocolate, black tea, pepper, oak spice, Vanilla frosting.

Rating: 8/10

This is an excellent dram. Great depth, complex flavors, bursting with flavor. A great showing of a “low proof” cask strength well aged single malt.
