Review #375; Gin #5: Edinburgh Seaside Gin

This is a gin from Edinburgh Gin, it was made with an interesting mix of seaside botanicals including bladderwrack, scurvygrass, and ground ivy.

ABV: 43%

Nose: Heaby Brine, Minerals, Seaweed,

Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Brine, Peppery, Seaweed, Juniper, fresh cut lawn grass.

Finish: Medium length, heavy brine, peppery, minerals, grassy, juniper.

Rating: 5/10

This is an interesting tasting gin. The brine is very forward and almost manages to bury the juniper, but you still get that classic “forest/pine tree vibe. A bit heavy on the vegetal aspects due to the botanicals this one is a bit weird but in a good way. A bit off from a “classic gin’, but one I would be happy to have in my rotation, as I bet it would make a good Gin Rickey.
