This is an offering from the IB Scotch Universe, who labels there bottles off of celestial bodies, this one being Alpha Ventauri III. This is an 8 year old Glentuachers that was aged for all 8 years in a First Fill PX Barrel, then bottled at Cask Strength with no color added and was non-chill filtered.
ABV: 56%
Nose: Strong baking spices, cinnamon, allspice, pepper. Malty, Cereals. Light citurs, light honey.
Palate: Medium Mouthfeel. Some heat, slight allspice, pepper. Malt, bready. Light citrus, some straw.
Finish: Medium length. Warm. Spicy, Malty, Pepper. Bready, light citrus.
Rating: 5/10
This is fine. A decent young speyside packs some nice maltiness and light fruit. What brings it down is a lack of complexity for me, and a lack of balance flavorwise. This one could have used a few more year in the barrel in my opinion.
