This is an OB from Highland Park of their standard 12 year old offering. It is often seen as a good introduction for people into light peat, and scotch as whole. Lets see how it holds up.
ABV: 43%
Nose: Grassy, Light Vanilla, Lemon, Oak spice, light foresty peat.
Palate: Medium / thin mouthfeel. Light Earthy Peat, Lemon Zest, Oak Spice, Black Pepper, brine.
Finish: Short, Citrus Warmth, light peat, black pepper, Slight blackberry.
Rating: 5/10
This is a perfectly acceptable bottling. It has some flavors in there that are good, some fruity, light peat, some brine, with none of it being overpowering. This is a bottle fine to have on hand to introduce guests to scotch, or to sip on without having to think about it.
