This is a New Riff SiB store pick, picked by Cork n Bottle in Cresent Springs, KY.
This was reviewed blind and then I was revealed the bottle, so keep that in mind while reading this.
ABV: ?????
Nose: Heavy oak spice, tobacco leaf, peanuts,
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, heat, peanuts, oak, pepper, slight vanilla.
Finish: Medium length, warm. Nutty, slight vanilla, tannins, oak spice.
Rating: 5/10
Guess: This has good flavor to it, but it doesn’t come across as really complex or interesting. It has good baselines flavors and the heavy oak makes me think it is at least 10 years old. The nuttiness makes me think beam, Im going to go with Knob Creek 12 years old as my guess.
Well I was off on just about everything, but pretty good for 4 years old.
