Review #334; Scotch #120: Arran 18 (New)

This a relaunched version of Arran 18 with a new label, and a new mix of barrels. It is also Non-chill filtered and no color added. Let’s see how this whiskey stands up.

ABV: 46%

Nose: Strong Orange Peel, Malty Cereals, Plum, allspice,

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Cereals, Malt, Orange Peel, Toasted Brown Sugar, Allspice, sourdough bread.

Finish: Medium Length, Orange Peel, Pepper, Rasberry, Malt, sourdough.

Rating: 7/10

Just as good as the old 18, but in a different more sherried way, this is a spectacular 18 year old OB. The character bready maltiness of Arran stands out as does some excellent sherry cask influence. This is one that I want a full bottle of on my shelf.
