Review #319; Brandy #11: Jeal Luc Pasquet Lot 62 Legacy Selection

Distilled in 1962, Bottled in 2019. This is a selected brandy from JLP, some things that were occurring in 1962:

Cuban Missile Crisis

John Glenn Orbits the Earth

Marilyn Monroe Dies.

Now that we have some context, lets dive in:

ABV: 41.9% ABV

Nose: Tannic Spice, Slightly Musty Grapes, honey, slight cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel,

Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Orange Peel, Tart Grapes, figs, slight nutmeg, black pepper,

Finish: Long, tart grapes, heavy black pepper, citrus, oak spice, long and musty

Rating: 7/10

The nose on this is absolutely incredible, its pungent and hits way above its proof. Those flavors just roll off of it in droves. Its still good on the palate and finish but doesn’t live up to it. I must also note that the finish is incredibly long, but a bit jumbled flavor wise.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite

10 | Perfect | Perfect
