Review #271; Scotch #92: Ardmore 11yr 2008 r/scotch selection

This bottling comes from Ardmore’s distilling season in 2008. After spending 11 years maturing in a bourbon barrel, it was dumped and bottled at natural cask strength by Morrison & MacKay. Devoid of coloring or filtering

The picture above is from me opening the bottle last night as I forgot to take a pic of my sample bottle this evening, but I had this from my secret santa, so keep in mind that all of these notes are blind pre reveal.

ABV: 57%

Nose: Clean, meaty peat. Vanilla, Clove, Citrus, Lemon Zest.

Palate: Thick oily mouthfeel, meaty peat. Vanilla, citrus and lemon zest. Slight Hay.

Finish: Medium length, meaty peat, Brine, Citrus and Lemon Zest.

Rating: 8/10

Clean peat, briny fruitiness, some nice spices in there and some hay to ground it. This rocks and is delicious.

Guess: r/Scotch Ardmore 11

Reveal: r/scotch Ardmore 11

Boom. Helps that I opened and tried my bottle last night but still this was fun and is delicious as hell. Cheers to the pick team and to my secret santa for allowing me to try this completely blind.
