This is an bottling from The Ultimate Whisky Company. This Staoisha from Bunnahabhain was aged for 5 years in an ex-bourbon barrel before being bottled at cask strength with no additives. I had this blind then was shown the bottled after taking my notes.
This was reviewed blind, and then I was revealed the dram
ABV: 63.96%
Nose: Light Peat, Honey, Vanilla Bean, Baked Bread, slight hay. Allspice
Palate: Strong Peat, Ethanol, Ash, Slight Vanilla, Orange Citrus.
Finish: Medium Length, Warm savory Peat, Vanilla, Ashy.
Rating: 6/10
Guess: This is a blast of peated flavor, vanilla, light honey, and spices all combine to make a powerful dram. This is an ex-bourbon barrel, 55-60% abv peated release. Cask Strength Cao Ila?

Wow, for as young as this is as well as the price I would love to keep a bottle of this on hand.
