Review #255; Scotch #85: Staoisha 5yr 2013 Ultimate Whisky Company

This is an bottling from The Ultimate Whisky Company. This Staoisha from Bunnahabhain was aged for 5 years in an ex-bourbon barrel before being bottled at cask strength with no additives. I had this blind then was shown the bottled after taking my notes.

This was reviewed blind, and then I was revealed the dram

ABV: 63.96%

Nose: Light Peat, Honey, Vanilla Bean, Baked Bread, slight hay. Allspice

Palate: Strong Peat, Ethanol, Ash, Slight Vanilla, Orange Citrus.

Finish: Medium Length, Warm savory Peat, Vanilla, Ashy.

Rating: 6/10

Guess: This is a blast of peated flavor, vanilla, light honey, and spices all combine to make a powerful dram. This is an ex-bourbon barrel, 55-60% abv peated release. Cask Strength Cao Ila?
